Trojans vs Longhorns Series Announced

This if any other reason is why College Football might be the most exciting sport to watch.  On the heels of the 2010 college season to start, both the USC and University of Texas Athletic Departments announce a series set for the 2017 and 2018 schedule.

What could have been a regular affair had the Longhorns shown some balls 4 weeks ago when the “Small 12” broke apart.  Texas decided to stay in a weaker conference, then chose to do the next best thing.  Beef up there Non-Conference schedule and add the Trojans.

With most Top Programs electing to add weaker competition to pad there schedule, both these programs take the high road and will put on a great show for us all.  I’ll be the 1st in line for tickets to both these games.

Memo to Florida, Notre Dame, LSU, Alabama, and the rest of the SEC for that matter.  Yes you have a strong top portion of your conference, but when given the opportunity to showcase how great you really are or can be.  Elect not to add Appalachian State, Marshall, Middle Tennessee St, or any other Division 2 school to your schedule.

Congrats to these 2 Championship Programs for giving us what we want.  “Fight On” and “Hook’em Horns”

  1. These two schools sure know how to play the media game. This happens all the time, schools penciling in a national game but pulling out before the seasons schedule is finalized. If they do stay slated to play each other it’s a good thing the game is so far away as both clubs will not be contenders until probably around that time.
