ESPN reports that drivers in the NASCAR series must commit to just one championship series. Many fans are sure to have mixed emotions (as do I) about the change. It was epic seeing little Busch sweep Bristol this past season. How much bigger would it be to have a driver win the championship in all three series?! A feat I believe could be possible by the likes of Kyle Busch.
However it’s good to see that finally NASCAR’s minor league will finally not be dominated by major league drivers.
As with any new subject I have some questions…What will come of the rookies in the sport? How will their progression to Sprint Cup racing be affected? Will it be affected at all? Can drivers with commitment issues choose just one? Will the media and NASCAR still shove Dale Jr. down our throats?
These questions and more are sure to be answered this season. Stay tuned, let ‘em race boys part dos in 2011. See ya on February 20th at the Dayton 500!
